Beekeeping in NZ has increased by a couple thousand registered beekeepers in the last few years. Admittedly allot will be hobbiest beekeepers and will drop off after a while but the trend is more and more people are giving beekeeping a go.

Just to the rite top of the page you can find the hobby corner for the beginner beekeeper, covering a lot of information about how to get started in beekeeping, covering honey bee hives, what is required legally, basics on how to take care of your honey bees and there hives. Also a lot more tid bits on entry level beekeeping.

To the left you will find a section on advanced beekeeping, this will probably be one of the last sections that I will complete but at this stage it will be covering queen breeding, artifical swarming, aggressive hive control etc.

Also to the left are general links to other bits and pieces about beekeeping in NZ. I plan to keep this website as up to date as possible with my time constraints, if there is an area of beekeeping I havn't included that would be helpfull to other beekeepers please let me know also I welcome feedback and constructive criticism.
